Day Retreat for Writers: Unfolding Your Wings,
Beverly Lake, Everett | Saturday, December 1, 10:00-5:00
“Jump, and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall.”—Ray Bradbury
Writing is an act of courage. The longer we have written, the more we know this. It takes courage to put unformed thoughts on the page and courage to craft them, still more courage to share them with others, and even more to submit them to a publisher. Further courage is required for promotion and reviews. The final courage is beginning the next poem, story, blog post or book. On this retreat, we will zero in on where we most need courage going into 2019 and jump! Have you been avoiding that agent search? Waffling over Chapter Two? Being “too busy” to finish that poem? Name the one thing you most need to do to move ahead creatively and we will unpack it like the gift it is, giving you customized strategies to take home with you.
Our practices for creative wellness will include setting risky goals, discovering our collective wisdom, reading with optional feedback, and targeted work time (followed by cheering.) Register here!
“Do you have the courage? Do you have the courage to bring forth this work? The treasures that are hidden inside you are hoping you will say yes.” –Jack Gilbert
